BASIC SCIENCE: Wound Healing
Blood Coagulation
The coagulation cascade starts with the release of the platelet
factors (thromboplastins) and other substances from the
damaged cells.

Thromboplastins activate the conversion of prothrombin
into thrombin. Thrombin is
the enzyme that converts soluble fibrinogen into insoluble
fibrin. |
